Reviews and Ratings
My stay at the hotel was a mix of good and not so good experiences. The amazing view of the Gateway of India from my room was breathtaking, but the humidity and dirty carpets smelling of cigarettes took away from the overall comfort. The service was welcoming and informative, but I was hoping for a bit more personalized attention. The location was perfect for exploring tourist attractions, but the overcrowding was a downside. The dining experience offered beautiful views but had some waiting time issues on busy mornings.
My stay at the hotel was beyond charming and spectacular. The Sea Lounge breakfast was stunning, and the Shamiana room was beautiful, comfortable, and clean with all the amenities I could ask for. While the hotel may not be 5-star, it still provided a spectacular experience.
I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The rooms were quiet and comfortable, but the overwhelming sweet perfume smell was off-putting. The lack of soundproofing caused disruptions from outside noise late into the night.
I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The room was not up to the standards I expected, with a damp smell and a different bed setup than I anticipated. On the bright side, the service was exceptional, and the staff were professional and always available for assistance.
The hotel offers an awesome view overlooking the Arabian Sea and the Gateway to India. The rooms may look dated and in need of freshening up, but they are clean, neat, and hygienic. The service can vary from extremely rude to treating guests with so much warmth that you want to return. The location, while sounding good, can be terrible due to being overcrowded. The dining experience is exceptional with a wide range of food options, although it can be chaotic and overbooked at times.
The hotel's location is ideal in Mumbai, offering a beyond-expectation experience with delightful breakfast options. The rooms, though on the Palace wing, were not fully prepared with noise disturbances. However, the friendly and exceptional service made the stay memorable.
I had a mixed experience at the hotel. The rooms had a bit of a moldy smell, but I was pleasantly surprised to end up in a nice suite, probably because it was the last room available early in the morning.
I was a bit disappointed by the musty odor in my room, but the service was top-notch with friendly staff ensuring a perfect stay. The location overlooking the Gateway of India was excellent, and the dining options were not to be missed. The facilities offered were satisfactory, although the premium Wi-Fi came at an additional cost.
The hotel offers a fantastic view of the sea and the Gateway of India, but the rooms were not up to the expected standards for the price paid. The service was very nice and courteous, although there was an issue with payment communication. The location is exceptional, providing a great historical tour and easy access to various points of interest. Dining options were basic, but the healthy choices were appreciated.
The hotel offers beautiful views from the Superior Sea View Room with natural fiber elements, although some rooms may need refurbishment. The service is exceptional, especially the polite and accommodating head waiter, with room services available. The location provides easy access to tourist spots without the need for much transportation, although there might be occasional waits during peak times. The dining experience is delightful with a variety of cuisine options, but payment clarity could be improved. The facilities meet expectations for a 4-star property.
The hotel offers an awesome experience with clean, neat rooms at better prices, but lacks the iconic Taj feel. The service is professional, respectful, and very friendly, with immediate arrangements and helpful staff. The location is perfect, close to all tourist attractions with supportive staff. The dining options are exceptional, providing a wide range of high-quality food choices with a homely touch.
My first experience was not great as the rooms were old and there were mosquitos everywhere, making it difficult to stay in the hotel for long. Despite this, the tower room had an antique look. On the positive side, we were upgraded to the Palace, enjoyed the beautiful pool, indulged in a super delicious breakfast, and found a nice touch with aloe vera in our room.
The hotel offers a mix of positives with lovely rooms featuring super comfy beds and different pillow options, along with a captivating view of the Gateway of India. However, there is noticeable humidity in the rooms, possibly due to the sea, causing mirrors to become blurry.
The hotel offered a nice upgrade to a suite in the Tower, which was pleasant, but overall fell slightly short of 5-star standards. The cleanliness of the Gateway room was exceptional. The service lived up to its luxury reputation and was accommodating to all guests. The location was superb, right in front of India's Gate, although the chaotic drop-off point was a downside. The dining experience had a good variety of options, except for the bread section, which was subpar.
My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms, though not in the heritage wing, were super nice, absolutely spotless, and recently renovated with a nice view of Nariman Point/Marine Drive. Unfortunately, there were mosquitos everywhere, making it challenging to stay for long. The service was exceptional, with the staff going the extra mile to ensure high standards, but there were some lapses like losing the view in one of the rooms. The location was great for exploring South Mumbai, with a lovely setting in the iconic Palace part of the hotel, despite the occasionally busy traffic. The dining experience offered a variety of choices, especially the freshly cooked items, though there were minor issues like needing attentive cleaning. Overall, it was a decent stay with some notable highlights and drawbacks.
